Ilhan Omar has requested her supporters to donate money to her campaign as she battles the Trump administration over an investigation into her immigration documents. Homeland Security Investigations, the investigative arm of ICE, raided Omar's home on Tuesday as the Justice Department continued its investigation.
The Somali-born congresswoman's campaign subsequently sent supporters a fundraising email referencing the raid and asking them to help her prepare for what lies ahead, indicating the challenges she is expected to face. Contributions started at $10. "We have an obligation to fight back against this ludicrous, partisan investigation, and show that we will not let Trump's abuse of power go unchecked," the email read.
