I'm going to be in Asheville for about 24 hours later this week, and, based on Burial's Instagram teaser, it seems I've lucked into a mystery bottle release during my visit that's limited to on-site purchase. I'll be cutting it close on timing given my mid-afternoon flight home, but I'm hoping I can make it work. Would you expect the release to begin right at opening? What kind of line do you think there will be? Do these things tend to sell out quickly?

I honestly felt I had a better handle these kinds of things in the line-life days before the pandemic, so any advice would be appreciated!

I don't think there will be a line. In May I was able to pick up Seasoned Skillet French toast the day after release as there was a two bottle limit. Below is from Burials Facebook page:

Doubt it will sell out this week and I would not expect a line. You can always try Forestry Camp if it sells out at south slope.

Thanks to all who responded! I'm really looking forward to the QIPA as well. I made this same trip during the anniversary party last year and loved that Brujos QIPA collab, so I have high hopes for this year's.

Is today's release limited to South Slope, or will the anniversary barleywine/stout cuvée be available at Forestry Camp as well? The latter is closer to the airport, so I was hoping to buy there.

As far as the QIPA, I snagged a 4-pack last night, but my first can did not impress me in nearly the same way as last year's Brujos anny collab. YMMV.

If anyone snags any of the 13th anniversary bottles and would want to trade I was planning on going but got a job I couldn't refuse. Happy to hunt down anything in my local area as well as Midwest and PA bottles since I'm going to Pittsburgh and Ohio next week.

Isn't it awesome when a trip coincides with a limited release?!

I hate flying and dealing with airports, especially when it's for a quick-turnaround trip with little time for enjoyment, so getting this surprise was a huge bright spot in an otherwise chaotic 24-hour visit.

I guess the one good thing about such a short stay was that I could pack light, leaving me weight capacity to come home with seven(!) anny bottles.

Does anyone know if these releases are available at the Charlotte location?

Everything I had was good, but 13th Guest was definitely the standout.
