Cruise to Port Canaveral and Nassau - Beer Recommendations

    We cruise the last week of July and stop in Port Canaveral on a Tuesday then Nassau Bahamas on Wednesday. Looking for recommendations in both places. I know there is Rip Ty'd Brewing and Pirate Republic in Nassua. TY

    Best option in Cape Caniveral is Rising Tide. Great tap list and food. Further down the road in Cocoa Beach is 4th Street Filling Station which also has a great tap list and food.

    Best bet in Nassau is to bring your own or drink Guinness foreign extra stout. I will say that corona with a lime hit different in the Bahamas.

    My first legal beer was in Nassua and it was a Foreign Extra Stout.

    Doesn't Carib has a taproom in Port Canaveral? Most of the beers aren't great, but maybe you'll find a sleeper?

    i recently visited the carib taproom. if you wanna check off "visited foreign brewery in the us" yes stop. otherwise, meh.

    they usually have mackeson's xxx milk stout on tap, which is pretty difficult to find anywhere else. their american-style beers are trash. they had a pineapple cider under the Carib name which was interesting (not cidery, more soda-like) but unless you have a sweet tooth it's not gonna be for you. also, the vibe and service both feel extremely corporate.. the decor of the place is all ads for the brand and employees lack beer knowledge. i asked about GFE stout (they used to brew it) and nobody had ever heard of it.

    you're better off driving the half hour to melbourne if you have the time. you can try lots of local florida stuff at van beers and i really like hell n blazes for solid to-style large menu and brewpub vibe.
