WASHINGTON, October 13. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump believes that Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Vladimir Zelensky need to meet to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, according to his remarks to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House before departing for Ohio.

"All I know is that Zelensky and Putin have to get together and end that ridiculous war," Trump said, responding to a question about prospects for a settlement.

"I think they want to make a deal, but they don't know how," he added, pledging to get the two sides to reach an agreement.

On September 23, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Zelensky could come to Moscow if he wanted contact with the Russian leadership and would receive security guarantees.
