The German marque has been partnering with Adidas since last year. But now, the duo has moved beyond Formula 1-related apparel and footwear to something better fitted for the everyday driver.

For the task, Mercedes-Benz takes on Adidas’s most iconic silhouette: the Samba. After announcing the sneakers all the way back in January, the brands have now finally unveiled the trio of new models.

Dropping in Magic Beige, Grey Five and Core Black, the monochromatic Samba OGs look strikingly different from your average version of the shoe. For starters, our eyes now move away from the classic Three Stripes on the sides. The Adidas emblem gets downplayed significantly, blending in with the premium leather backdrop.

The colorways reference retro Mercedes nameplates, such as the W201 that’s used in the promotional materials. Meanwhile, the diamond stitching pattern on the upper is a nod to the S-Class’s leather upholstery.

Instead of the usual gold Samba lettering alongside the Three Stripes, a small metallic Mercedes-Benz plaque appears on the lateral side. Also, the top of the tongue sports Mercedes’s Three-Pointed Star logo (imagine wearing these while driving a BMW).

Largely, the glossy sneakers simply look more luxurious than your average Samba. The monotone palette continues to the midsole for each respective colorway.

The Adidas x Mercedes Samba OG is set to drop on October 13. It’s already listed on the brand’s Hong Kong website for HK$999 (~$127). US pricing has not yet been officially announced.
