Monopusher chronographs are uncommon and mostly relegated to luxury watch brands, but when the stopwatch complication was first introduced to the wrist around the turn of the century, it was the norm. In 1934, Willy Breitling patented a second pusher to reset a chronograph, creating a new standard that continues to this day.
As with so many features of watchmaking, the once antiquated monopusher is now intriguing to enthusiasts and collectors. Angelus offers one of the most exquisite examples in production today, and now, it finally comes with a tachymeter.
The Chronographe Tachymètre features a sporty new dial color scheme. AngelusOriginally founded in 1891, Angelus was a well-respected brand among vintage collectors before Citizen’s Swiss manufacture, La Joux-Perret, revived it in 2015.
The new Chronographe Tachymètre joins the brand’s La Fabrique collection of early and mid-twentieth-century designs. It follows the same specs as the 2025 Chronographe Télémètre, but adds a sportier paint job to match the new chronograph scale.
The Chronographe Tachymètre features a 37mm case.AngelusAs the name suggests, the Chronographe Tachymètre replaces the telemeter scale of its more professional-looking predecessor with a tachymeter, swapping out the ability to judge distance for the ability to measure speed.
It comes in the same 37mm case with a single pusher integrated into the fluted crown, and topped with an anti-reflective box sapphire crystal.
Blue and pinkTwo stainless steel Chronographe Tachymètre references are available, both finished with satin-brushed surfaces and polished chamfers along the lugs.
A small seconds dial sits at 3:00, across from a 60-minute totalizer at 9:00.AngelusThe Steel Grey model features a grainy silver dial plate with recessed snailed subdials and a satin-brushed petrol blue rehaut, paired with a navy blue calfskin strap.
The new tachymeter scale is printed on the rehaut. AngelusAlternatively, there is a grainy salmon-pink dial with silver subdials and rehaut, offered on a gray calfskin strap.
The gold packageRounding out the Chronographe Tachymètre launch is an elevated 18-karat yellow-gold case with the same finish. It features a grained gold dial with a sage-green rehaut and subdials, complete with a sage-green calfskin strap equipped with an 18-karat yellow-gold pin buckle.
The Chronographe Tachymètre is offered in an 18-karat yellow-gold case.AngelusThe Chronographe Tachymètre is powered by the Caliber A5000 hand-wound movement, which beats at 3Hz and provides a 42-hour power reserve.
Along with the monopusher complication, the La Joux-Perret–produced movement is notable for its 4.2mm height, which allows for a slim case height of just 9mm.

Angleus, along with sister brand Arnold & Son, sits at the top of Citizen’s massive horological empire, and it is priced accordingly. The Chronographe Tachymètre is listed only in Swiss Francs, with the steel references priced at CHF 18,500 and the gold at CHF 34,600.
Complicating things further is an extremely limited production run. Steel Gray is limited to 50 pieces, Steel Pink is limited to 30 pieces and Gold is limited to just 15 pieces.
