One person dead and four injured in early morning Hartford shooting
Дата публикации: 16-08-2026 08:33:16
One person has died and four others are injured after a shooting in Hartford on Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the 700 block of Wethersfield Avenue around 1:40 a.m. after getting a ShotSpotter alert.
Once in the area, police said they found a large crowd of people and one unresponsive gunshot victim who died at the scene. He was identified as 31-year-old Joseph Texidor of Newington.
Four additional people were taken to area hospitals in private cars including a man in his 30s, a man in his 20s, another man in his 30s and an adult woman. All five people are believed to have been shot in the same incident.
Hartford Police Lieutenant Aaron Boisvert says the heavy traffic and large crowds make incidents like these more common in the area.
“It’s a constant battle,” he said. “The area police officers are battling it every weekend, they’re here til’ 3 o’clock in the morning, 4 o’clock in the morning, trying to solve these problems.”
The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
