AFOA Canada is inviting contributions to the next issue of the Journal of Aboriginal Management (JAM), the only professional journal in Canada for Indigenous Professionals in the management, finance and governance fields.

Issue 40 will be distributed at the AFOA Canada National Conference to 1100+ delegates.

Celebrating 25 Years, Building Stronger Nations, reflects on the ideas, leadership, and experiences that have shaped the past 25 years of nation building, while looking ahead to the next 25 years. It will explore how Indigenous Nations can build on their strengths, knowledge, and experience to create lasting prosperity and advance self-determined futures.

We invite practical and thought-provoking perspectives on governance, economic development, leadership, capacity building, and community wellbeing. Contributors are encouraged to share lessons learned, emerging trends, and culturally grounded strategies.

Some questions that may be considered in this issue:

1. Over the last 25 years, what factors have strengthened the governance of Indigenous Nations?
2. How can we shape the next 25 years of nation building? How may Indigenous youth help with this?
3. What role does self-determination play in shaping effective approaches to economic development and long-term community prosperity?
4. How can we support the development of the next generation of leaders?
5. What approaches to financial management and governance are creating sustainable prosperity in Indigenous communities?
