New Delhi, Vietnam-based electric vehicle maker VinFast said its two-wheeler division has signed its first set of Letters of Intent (LOIs) with more than 50 dealers in India as it plans to enter the country's electric scooter market.

The showrooms will be set up in Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat, the company said in a statement.
In the South, showrooms will be opened in Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, while in the East the company will cover West Bengal and Odisha.
"India is one of the most important markets in VinFast's global growth story, and this partnership reflects the scale of ambition we hold for the region. As we expand our presence across markets worldwide, India stands out for its scale, its growing demand for electric mobility, and the opportunity it offers to redefine mobility," said Vo Thi Cam Tu, managing director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market.
VinFast's entry is expected to increase competition in India's electric scooter market, which is currently dominated by domestic manufacturers such as TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto, Ather Energy and Hero MotoCorp.
"Alongside, we are also building charging infrastructure and strengthening after-sales services to ensure that customers across these locations receive the support they need throughout their ownership journey," said Anurag Saxena, CEO of VinFast India E-Scooters.
VinFast entered India with its electric cars in September 2025. The company currently has three electric cars in its portfolio in the country - the VF 6, VF 7 and Limo Green.
The automaker also has plans to launch electric buses in India. Vingroup's electric taxi operator Green and Smart Mobility (GSM) also entered India's ride-hailing market recently with VinFast's seven-seater Limo Green.
