The Jasons are back and threatening to destroy the quiet life the Dessens are trying to build for themselves as Dark Matter returns for season two.

Jennifer Connelly and Joel Edgerton join HeyUGuys to discuss the fallout from season one’s tense ending and what audiences can expect from the new series.

During our interview, Joel Edgerton discusses the freedom that came with playing Jason in season two as the story moves beyond its original source material, while Jennifer Connelly reveals how the events of last season continue to affect Daniela, particularly in light of her character’s troubled past.

They also discuss how Jason and Daniela’s relationship develops as we finally get to see them together as a couple, and why, despite its epic scale and spectacle, Dark Matter remains a deeply character-driven and complex story. Plus, we find out what their own singular, recognisable qualities would be if there were other versions of them out there.

Dark Matter returns for season two on August 28, 2026.
