With WWE SummerSlam 2026 on the imminent horizon, there's no better time to look back on an annual PLE that dates all the way back to 1988, where the Mega Powers headlined against the Mega Bucks at the legendary mecca of New York City's Madison Square Garden.

Initially introduced as the fourth of WWE's classic 'big four' events - joining WrestleMania, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble - SummerSlam has been the home to so many all-time great moments and matches across the decades. Big title changes have happened, major turns have played out, and SummerSlam has, at times, gone down as the very best pro wrestling event of the year.

Nowadays expanded to a two-day show, this year's SummerSlam has WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes, and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins as its double main events, and those matches alone bring plenty of reasons why SummerSlam 2026 could down as something special. Whether WWE delivers, though, that's the bigger question.

Looking back across SummerSlam's storied history, then, how well do you really know this staple of the wrestling calendar? That's what we're here to find out, as we've put together the toughest SummerSlam quiz you'll find anywhere; from the Golden Era to the New Generation, to the Attitude Era, to Ruthless Aggression, and through to more modern times, all are covered in this rascal of a quiz.

So, with that in mind, let's get going and test out just how well you know your SummerSlam trivia.
