FORT LAUDERDALE (VINnews) — JetBlue has begun daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Barranquilla, Colombia, and has returned as the exclusive airline partner of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts under a multiyear agreement.

The airline said the Barranquilla service started Oct. 1 on Airbus A320 aircraft. Flight 1957 leaves Fort Lauderdale at 11:05 a.m. and arrives at Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport at 12:55 p.m. local time. The return, Flight 1958, departs Barranquilla at 2:05 p.m. and lands in Fort Lauderdale at 5:56 p.m. The schedule can change.

Barranquilla is JetBlue’s third Colombian city, joining Medellín and Cartagena. Daily Fort Lauderdale-Cali flights are scheduled to begin Oct. 15, which would give the carrier four destinations in Colombia. Passengers from Barranquilla can connect in Fort Lauderdale to other cities on JetBlue’s network.

“Fort Lauderdale continues to grow as an important connecting gateway for JetBlue,” Daniel Shurz, the airline’s senior vice president of revenue, network and enterprise planning, said in a statement. He said the route builds on JetBlue’s history in Colombia and is aimed at travelers visiting family and friends as well as those flying for business or leisure.

To mark the launch, JetBlue offered limited one-way fares from Fort Lauderdale to Barranquilla starting at $134 in its Main cabin and $234 in EvenMore, sold only on its website. Those promotional fares had to be booked by Oct. 2 for travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Jan. 19 to March 9, 2027.

The Barranquilla flight is part of a broader buildup at Fort Lauderdale. JetBlue has said it is the airport’s largest carrier and expects about 150 daily departures there by winter, its biggest schedule from the airport.

Away from the terminal, the Broward Center said it is welcoming JetBlue back as its exclusive airline sponsor and is naming a renovated mezzanine lounge in the Au-Rene Theater the JetBlue Club Level. The space includes wider seating, a lounge, chef-prepared food and an open bar. Subscriptions are offered for selected series, including the 2026-27 Bank of America Broadway in Fort Lauderdale season.

“Great partnerships help us continually raise the bar for our guests, which is why we’re proud to welcome JetBlue back to the Broward Center,” Ty Sutton, president and chief executive of the center, said. He said both organizations have long ties to South Florida.

Stephanie Evans Greene, JetBlue’s senior vice president of marketing and brand, said Fort Lauderdale has been important to the airline’s history and that its ties to the region extend beyond the airport. The center is at 201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale.

JetBlue, based in New York and traded as JBLU, has also extended a multiyear deal with the Florida Panthers and is managing construction of Terminal 5 at the Broward airport, a project whose completion has slipped.
