Delta, which cited high demand when it launched Seattle-to-Philadelphia nonstop flights in May, will not offer the service in 2027.

Delta Air Lines will suspend nonstop flights from Seattle to one of its top-requested destinations after six months.
Delta’s Seattle-Philadelphia nonstop seasonal flight service, which launched in May and runs once daily on the Airbus A321neo, will operate through Nov. 30 as scheduled and won’t return next year, according to the airline. The airline does not have plans to resume the route at this time but will “continue to evaluate our network based on customer demand,” according to a Delta spokesperson.
Delta, the second largest carrier overall at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, was the third airline to offer nonstop flights to Philadelphia, after Alaska Airlines and American Airlines. Philadelphia was introduced as a highly requested destination for Delta’s Seattle corporate customers during an announcement last October. The last flight out of Seattle leaves Nov. 29 at 9:38 p.m. PT, while the last flight out of Philadelphia leaves Nov. 30 at 7 a.m. ET, according to the airline’s booking page Thursday.
The suspension in Seattle comes as Delta moves to expand its footprint as the largest carrier at Los Angeles International Airport, eyeing a new Los Angeles-Philadelphia nonstop service in summer 2027, according to a news release. It’s also slated to operate eight daily flights between Seattle and Los Angeles beginning July 11, up from its usual five to seven daily flights, according to the release.
As the top global carrier at Sea-Tac, Delta has more recently focused on increasing its international routes from Seattle. Earlier this year, Delta launched its service to Barcelona — the first nonstop flight to Spain out of Sea-Tac — and nonstop service to Rome. And in August, the airline announced a new nonstop service from Seattle to Tokyo, to be rolled out in late March.
