MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — Two women are under arrest after a shooting at Garry's Towing and Recovery in Martin County triggered a school lockout, a police chase and a separate crash. The Martin County Sheriff's Office says more charges could be coming.
Jade Rondon, a Miami resident, opened fire in the tow yard on Southeast Cove Road shortly after 1 p.m.

The sheriff's office says the car she came to retrieve had been involved in criminal activity Thursday evening, then reported stolen. Detectives recovered it Friday morning.
Around 1 p.m., Rondon arrived at the tow yard accompanied by another woman, Valerie Valdes. Shortly after, individuals in another car arrived at the facility, and the two parties became involved in an altercation, deputies said.
"They got into some type of argument about the belongings in the car which by the way the only thing really in the car was a couple guns," Sheriff John Budensiek said.
Rondon got a gun and fired multiple shots at the other individuals before getting into the car and leaving the area. The individuals who were shot at also left the scene before deputies arrived.
Garry Reed, the owner of Garry's Towing and Recovery, said his employee was left shaken by the ordeal.
"Young lady who works in my office — she was terrorized," Reed said.
Reed told me they had helped the Martin County Sheriff's Office recover the car Friday morning, but when the owner came to pick it up this afternoon, things turned dangerous.
"The young lady went to see what was going on and all of a sudden she heard gunfire," Reed said.
"[It’s] scary. I'm racing — my heart is racing," Reed said.
Because the tow yard is located near Murray Middle School, the sheriff's office immediately activated an active-shooter response and placed the school on lockout.
Road patrol deputies, aviation, detectives and other available units quickly began searching for Rondon's car and located it traveling on Cove Road near US-1. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but she fled, forcing deputies to perform a PIT maneuver to bring the car to a stop.
Later, Valdes was reportedly driving recklessly, lost control and caused a significant crash near Osprey Street and US-1. No one was seriously hurt.
The Sheriff's Office is still conducting search warrants and reviewing data and video evidence to figure out what happened at the tow yard.
"We're honestly not sure what we have," Budensiek said. "We're sure that shots are fired. We're sure that she fled from our deputies. Something happened with that vehicle the night before. There was a reason why everyone had interest in that car."
Rondon faces two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, discharging a firearm in public, aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license and felony criminal mischief. Valdes faces charges for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and four counts of reckless driving with injuries. The sheriff says more charges are likely as investigators piece together what happened.
Despite the chaos, Reed said he is counting his blessings.
"Thank God that everybody was okay," Reed said.
