A Republican senator on the outs has dedicated an entire book to criticizing the "MAGA morons" surrounding President Donald Trump, whom he predicts will trigger an election day disaster for the GOP that will last for years, a quietly released excerpt reveals.Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) does not pull his punches as he dishes dirt and hurls endless insults at MAGA luminaries in his soon-to-be released tell-all — "How to Lose Friends and Antagonize Presidents" — detailing the many "what the f--- moments" he's experienced during Trump's second term."They can go to hell," Tillis writes of the top Trumpworld cheerleaders. "They are the reason I want to warn my fellow Republicans of the impending disasters ahead for them in 2026 and 2028 and beyond...When that disaster comes — which, as of this writing, I think it will — prepare for the kind of insanity that makes everything we’re living through now look positively sunny by comparison."Tillis takes darting jabs at MAGA bigwigs such as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, White House staffer Stephen Miller, conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer and pundit Steve Bannon — and all this in just the prologue and first chapter. That section was provided by his publisher, HarperCollins. The full book will be released on Tuesday. While Tillis claims he has no "beef" with Trump — even though he announced he would not seek reelection just one day after being subjected to the president's wrath — he doesn't spare him a few scathing rebukes.Tillis first feels compelled to remind readers that God and Trump are "two separate beings," the latter being more prone to tweet about a politician as though he were "a cast member of The Real Housewives of West Palm Beach."And then Tillis gets into the business of shredding those Trump brought into his administration, whom he describes as "cynical, shameless, boot-licking sycophants who shouldn’t be allowed to tour the White House, let alone work there."Tillis calls Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents "thugs," former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) a combination of "Dennis the Menace and a rabid hyena," Loomer a MAGA "loon" and U.N. Ambassador Mike Waltz nothing more than "typical."But none of these appear to infuriate Tillis more than Hegseth, whose personal life he compares to "something out of a letter to Penthouse."Tillis dates his dislike back to the early days of Trump's second term, when Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) felt free to publicly state her concerns with appointing a former Fox News talking head to one of the most powerful positions on the planet. This infuriated Trump's base — and infuriated Tillis in return. He described them as "MAGA morons." "Maybe she also thought it was a bad idea to have a thrice-married alleged alcoholic with anger problems within two-factor verification of our nation’s supply of nuclear weapons," Tillis writes. "Just a thought."The Republican senator once again resorts to cursing as he describes his response to Hegseth's confirmation hearing, where his colleagues, Tillis argued, gushed like they were in an infomercial. "Oh s--- I thought as I watched the pep rally," he wrote. "That knot deep in my stomach was clenched again: This was how Trump 2.0 was going to go."Amid the snark, and as Tillis prepared to slam the door on his way out of the Senate, he delivered one last parting piece of advice to fellow conservatives he argued have kowtowed for too long to Trump. "Once Republicans suffer the electoral bloodbath that I am all but certain is heading their way come November 2026," Tillis wrote, "a few more people out there might find that the way I do things...calling out stupid s--- when I see it—might work for them, too.""How to Lose Friends and Antagonize Presidents: The Trouble with Sycophants, Courage Outsourcing, and Partisan Groupthink" hits shelves on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
