The $350 Billion Longevity Mismatch in Women’s Health–Boston Consulting Group
BCG’s new 2026 Global Study on Longevity finds that women, especially those undergoing their perimenopause or menopause, have the highest rates of unmet needs. A sex-differentiated longevity journey underlies the mismatch. Women age differently than men, spending more of their additional years in poor health and experiencing hormonal changes in stages rather than gradually. Health systems haven’t caught up. Addressing this mismatch has real business value with $350 billion on the table today. Women are already engaged, high-spending health consumers, but the market hasn’t built the right products to meet their demand.

The Future of Healthy Living: A $16.4 Trillion Opportunity–McKinsey Health Institute
New McKinsey analysis finds that addressing modifiable risk factors could add 12 years to healthy life expectancy at birth and contribute nearly 9% to the global economy by 2050, equal to a $16.4 trillion annual increase in global GDP. Some governments are already making healthy living a strategic priority to capture the human and economic benefits of healthier lifespans. In Abu Dhabi a healthy-living strategy demonstrates how governments could mobilize a broad, cross-government agenda. The report quantifies the opportunity, highlights lessons from Abu Dhabi and other geographies, and lays out a practical playbook for governments.

The Compounding Problem of Peptides–Johns Hopkins University
Consumer demand is soaring for gray-market peptides. Spas, wellness clinics, telehealth companies, and online vendors are luring people in with claims that injectable peptides can rejuvenate skin, repair damaged tissue, speed up recovery from surgeries, tamp down inflammation, bolster sleep and boost muscle mass, libido and vitality. Scientists at Johns Hopkins warn about the health risks and unknowns of the unregulated drugs often purchased from overseas suppliers.

Singapore Pays People to Pick Up a Book in Battle Against Doomscrolling–The Guardian
Singapore is paying its citizens to read for at least 15 minutes a day to fight the rise of doomscrolling. The affluent city-state hopes its gamification strategy, which launched this month, will improve concentration, critical thinking and the imagination of Singaporeans “in a world of extraordinary abundance of stimulation.” The Singapore government often uses financial incentives to influence the behavior of its citizens. Previous health-focused initiatives have included supermarket vouchers for walking and prizes for hitting daily step targets.
