Bruno Barreiro is not new to public service. He understands Miami-Dade, he understands the issues facing our community and he understands how government works. He first served in the Florida House of Representatives beginning in 1992 and later spent 20 years on the Miami-Dade County Commission, including serving as chairman.

That kind of experience is important.

District 113 includes some of the most important and diverse communities in Miami-Dade. The people who live here are dealing with rising costs, traffic, transportation, housing, taxes, development and the everyday challenges of living in one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.

Barreiro has made those issues central to his campaign. He has talked about improving transportation, providing tax relief, addressing affordability, protecting residents from overdevelopment and making sure Miami-Dade gets its fair share of resources from Tallahassee.

But what stands out about Bruno Barreiro is that he has already been there.

He knows the difference between making a promise and actually working through the legislative process to get something accomplished. His previous service in Tallahassee and on the County Commission gives him an understanding of how state and local government have to work together.

We also believe having someone with Miami-Dade experience in Tallahassee can make a difference. Our county sends billions of dollars to Tallahassee. We need representatives who understand how to fight for our community and bring resources back home.
