A stunning wedding from the heart of Yorkshire, with a gorgeous couple and superbly sophisticated wedding aesthetic. The wedding party look amazing all in black, and Katie and Adam look incredible dressed in white – a real statement look and it works beautifully! But I’ll start today by saying we’re blogging this wedding differently. Usually, we ask couples to tell us about their wedding suppliers by sending them a little interview to complete – and it means we have a bunch of amazing reviews to share with you. This time, bride Katie and Yorkshire wedding photographer Fabio Photography  gathered all the supplier details via WhatsApp chat so for anyone reading and looking for supplier recommendations for Yorkshire weddings, we’ve done our best to point you in the right direction!

Yorkshire wedding photographer Fabio Photography is based in Halifax and photographs weddings throughout Yorkshire and the UK.

This is where things get a little different. English Wedding is built around genuine reviews and recommendations for wedding photographers and suppliers. We don’t have one from Adam & Katie yet, but it took me minutes to find a couple of hundred glowing, five star reviews for Fabio Photography across Bridebook, Hitched, Facebook and Google. The ceremony was magical but the best part was seeing everyone having fun on the dance floor during our night do!

The confetti line at Woodlands is always a great spot, and Fabio told me Katie and Adam’s guests absolutely went for it.

“Afterwards, we made use of the gardens and terrace steps for portraits. We kept this fairly relaxed and didn’t disappear for ages — just little pockets of time here and there so Katie and Adam could enjoy their day while still getting some beautiful portraits together.”

Woodlands Hotel – on the outskirts of Leeds – was incredible!

Woodlands Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel and wedding venue, with landscaped gardens and a sweeping, tree-lined driveway. It’s romantic and stylish with in-house catering and packages available for couples including decor and stationery.

The orangery where Adam & Katie were married is filled with natural light – perfect for weddings all year round.

Woodlands is one of those Leeds wedding venues that I genuinely love photographing at. As a recommended supplier there, I’ve worked at the venue a number of times, and the Orangery is always a dream for photography. It’s incredibly bright, with loads of natural light, which makes such a difference throughout the day and gives the photographs that lovely light, clean feel.
Jessica, Mark and the team at Woodlands have also always been second to none. They’re brilliant at looking after the couple, but something I particularly notice as a supplier is how well they look after all the other suppliers throughout the day too! It certainly feels like we’re working as a team whenever I photograph a wedding there. I hadn’t worked with any of the other suppliers before but they were all lovely and I hope I’ll have the opportunity to work with them again!

Our flowers were put together beautifully by a friend of my mum!

Katie’s bouquet had white roses, baby’s breath and eucalyptus leaves, and the venue space and tables were decorated with white roses to match – the effect was deliciously understated and elegant.

Nearly everything we did for the wedding was DIY and I couldn’t have done any of it without help from my number 1 bridesmaid Beth. We spent a lot of evenings & weekends DIY’ing!

Listen when people say not to stress the small stuff! Our day was perfect and I have no idea if anything went wrong or didn’t turn up. We were too busy enjoying the day.

Yorkshire wedding and event decor hire specialists Create a Look transformed the space with an ivory blossom tree canopy and beautiful chair sashes.

Katie: I went to Wed2B in Kirkstall with every intention of buying that style dress & the dress I bought wasn’t my dream but I had a vision & had it altered to fit my vision perfectly.

The alterations were done by recommended West Yorkshire seamstress Danielle McGilloway. With over 100 Google reviews, Danielle’s built up a 5 star rating for her warm, friendly and professional service, helping brides feel confident, at ease and offering an experience for brides which becomes a treasured part of their wedding experience.

Adam’s suit was from Slaters Leeds. We knew we wanted a black tie wedding & Adam wanted to look different from the groomsmen so opted for the cream jacket.

From his perspective as their Yorkshire wedding photographer, Fabio told me Katie and Adam brought so much energy to the whole day. “There was never really a dull moment! I’ve always said a wedding is as good as you… Bring the energy and everyone will follow along!
The couple’s grand entrance into the wedding breakfast set the tone straight away, and the speeches were brilliant. The whole room had such a great atmosphere and their friends and family really got involved.

They’re both Bradford City fans, so naturally the Bantams had to make an appearance at some point! A Bradford City shirt came out later in the evening and got exactly the reaction you would expect from a room full of passionate supporters.

Just when you thought Katie and Adam couldn’t add anything else to the evening, they came out with a tray of shots for their guests. It was completely unexpected and went down an absolute storm!

They had basically put together a day that felt completely like them — loads of energy, plenty of fun, lots of personality and a party that just kept building as the night went on.
