The Chattanooga Mocs women's tennis team begins its full-team fall schedule Friday at the APSU Fall Tournament in Clarksville, Tenn. The three-day event at the Governors Tennis Courts brings together Chattanooga, Austin Peay, Western Kentucky, Alabama A&M and Murray State. 

Chattanooga arrives with a rare opportunity to build directly on last season: every player from its 17-5 spring roster returns. The Mocs won their most matches since 2015 and reached the Southern Conference semifinals, with Addison Iacono and Rufaro Magarira establishing themselves at the top of the singles lineup as freshman. Pepperdine transfer Liam Oved joins the program this season and will compete with the team for the first time.  

Iacono has already opened her fall season on the national stage. She won an opening pre-qualifying match at the ITA Women's All-American Championships before her run ended over the weekend. Austin Peay's Yi-Ching Huang also competed at the event, earning a three-set consolation victory. Both now return to team competition in Clarksville.

The Mocs return all nine players from a team that finished 17-5 last spring, the program's most wins in a season since 2015. Chattanooga went 5-2 in Southern Conference play and reached the conference tournament semifinals. 

The Mocs also added Pepperdine transfer Liam Oved to their returning roster. Following this weekend, Chattanooga hosts the UTC Steve Baras Fall Invite on Oct. 2-4.
