Saturated in joyful colour and bursting with love, Chloe and Dan had the sweetest brief for their real wedding in the heart of Dublin. They wanted an easy-going celebration that felt like a fun day out in the city. Their May wedding was everything they dreamt of and so much more! Chloe works in fashion and she didn't want the aesthetic to feel too traditional or serious. She adores colour and she really wanted to have fun with every element of the celebration from the flowers to the stationery she designed herself.

Then there was her style! Our bombshell bride has a smile that can light up a room and she wore a phenomenal 2-in-1 wedding dress by Bespoke Bridal. Joined by 90 of their loved ones, they tied the knot at Dublin City Hall and partied the night away with their reception at Layla's rooftop restaurant at The Devlin. Pretty pastel blooms, sweet ceremony rituals, a fab photoshoot around the city (with an epic photobomb), and a jaw-dropping cake, don't miss a moment of magic with gorgeous imagery from Katie Kav Photography below.

Dubliners Chloe and Dan have been together for 20 years. "It's crazy! We met as teenagers and have been by each other’s side ever since. We travelled and had so much fun in our 20s and then were lucky enough to have our two gorgeous daughters and our little dog Bear."

Dan's proposal couldn't have been more perfect, Chloe reminisces. He popped the question on his birthday in 2024 which was enough to throw her off the scent! "We were going for a birthday walk to our usual beach spot and I had no clue what was about to happen. It was a sunny, crisp winter day. We had Prosecco on the beach called our loved ones then we celebrated that night with a surprise party in our local pub."

From the very beginning of the planning process they knew they wanted to feel like themselves on their special day and it was so important that they could relax and really have fun. "We didn’t want the day to become too big that we couldn’t enjoy it. Choosing a city wedding helped with this. We tried to recreate our fun-filled holidays and nights out but in wedding form. It was the most special way to celebrate two decades together with our closest family and friends."

The bride stayed at The Leinster with her parents, sister and daughter the night before. It was a seriously chic and chilled location to prep for the aisle on the wedding morning.

Dublin City Hall was a dream venue for Chloe as she works in town and she walks past it every morning. "It’s such a gorgeous building flooded with light. We didn’t feel like the venue overwhelmed us as we were moving around and experiencing different things. Our guests loved it and said there was magic in the air. It’s a very special place."

The utterly dreamy pastel flowers were arranged by the modern floral studio Bloom Room based in Greystones. "Daphne met me outside City Hall with my bouquet and it was such a nice moment before walking down the aisle. She nailed the brief and the colours were amazing."

Walking down the aisle arm in arm with her father is a moment Chloe will cherish forever. "Six months before the wedding, the same week my second daughter was born my dad had to have his leg amputated in emergency surgery. After a long recovery and a lot of hard work he walked me down the aisle and danced the night away with us. We could not be more grateful."

Their celebrant Amy Browne ensured they were well prepared for the ceremony so they felt so relaxed and present. "I just remember my face hurt from smiling so much," Chloe reminisces. A stunning soundtrack was provided by singer Marie Fox who put a gorgeous twist on their favourite songs.

A very funny and moving moment came courtesy of Dan's cousin, and their very dear pal, Conor who read Harry Baker’s poem Dust.

Sharing the day with their two adorable daughters, Luna, five, and six-month-old Nova, was magical beyond words. "We did a sand ceremony where Luna helped us blend the four coloured sands together to represent our little family. It was very special."

"We wanted to make the most of City Hall as it is such a beautiful building so we had Art of Bubbles for a drinks reception, this was such a treat."

She fills us in on on how her wedding dress of dreams came to life, "It was a journey! As I work in fashion all my friends used to say to me how will you ever choose a dress. They were right, it proved very difficult for me. Along with the fact that I started dress shopping whilst pregnant I just could not find anything that I was truly excited to wear. That’s where Niamh from Bespoke Bridal came in. I reached out to Niamh and explained my timeline that the wedding was six months after the baby. Niamh totally put my mind at ease. We had the most amazing collaborative design meeting and the dress was born."

"I fell in love with the 3D embellished floral lace fabric," she explains. "We went with a removable underskirt and cathedral-length veil for the ceremony and added the feather trim for the evening, it really suited the city vibes. Every fitting with Niamh was super chilled and I loved every minute. I could bring my new baby along and it was so special. Niamh and her team are beyond talented. For the evening outfit change I also changed shoes and veil it was a nice step change to get into party mode. I think getting your dress custom made is an amazing option as you can combine all of your favourite elements from dresses you’ve seen and as it’s made for you there are no alterations."

She accessorised with pink JW Pei heels for the ceremony and her 'something borrowed' was her friend's earrings from One Dame Lane. She completed the ensemble with a vintage beaded handbag from Vinted. Wait until you see her blingy bridal platforms by Azalea Wang for the afters!

While their guests mingled and enjoyed their bubbles in City Hall and made their way to the reception in Ranelagh by couch the couple enjoyed a fabulous photoshoot around the city before stopping at The Long Hall for a 'Just Married' tipple. "Not only is Katie Kavanagh the most amazing documentary-style photographer but she is so lovely. She put everyone at ease and had the absolute craic on the day. We had Ellie-May from The Content Club and she captured the best clips and details from the day she was also a gorgeous person that we loved spending time with."

The celebrations continued with drinks and canapés in the Devlin Hotel in Ranelagh which was followed by the dinner and party upstairs in Layla's rooftop restaurant. “The menu in Layla's was Italian which went down really well with our guests as it was something a little different. We had his and hers cocktails with dessert and it was such a fun relaxed vibe."

"We had exclusive use of Layla's rooftop restaurant. We had gone for brunch to see how we felt about booking our wedding there and the views of the city and the amazing staff had us sold before we even ate our food."

Playful and colourful, the talented bride designed their entire stationery suite on Canva. "The table plan, welcome sign and place cards were a DIY project that I really enjoyed as I was on maternity leave and love a creative outlet." The colourful candles and candlestick holders were sourced at Tiger while the gold table number frames were bought secondhand on Vinted.

A moment of adoration for their characterful cake created by Michéala of Mimis Bakes. "The cake was a work of art in itself. We ended up saving the cake cutting for our day two in Humphrey’s Bar and I recommend, our guests appreciated a little treat to ease the hangovers."

A huge highlight for the duo was their reception entrance to Loving Arms by Fred Again. "We had some technical difficulties with the music so our guests were waiting patiently for us to arrive so when we did they went wild. Such a fun moment."

Choosing suppliers that you get along with as people is so important, Chloe contends. "Everyone we worked with on the day we could count as pals by the end of it. It makes the day a lot more relaxed and enjoyable if the people around you get on with each other and your guests. Remember to stick to your vision for your day and try not to get wrapped up in pleasing everyone because you never will."

They stayed true to their roots as a noughties couple with their first dance to Sexy Love by Neyo as she reflects, "We didn’t want the traditional serious first dance so this was a fun alternative." Entertainment was by DJ and Sax and the dancefloor was packed the entire night. "The saxophonist and percussionist were so much fun and with the sun setting it felt like we could have been in Ibiza. Karin the singer really gets the crowd involved and we danced all night."

As for their honeymoon, they are planning a short getaway for some winter sun after Christmas. Sounds lovely! "Any recommendations send them our way," Chloe concludes with a chuckle.
