Applications are invited for joint appointments as Tenure-track Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor (several posts ) in the School of Computing and Data Science (Ref.: 537433), to commence in September 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment rank will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. For Assistant Professors, the appointment will initially be made on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Professor/Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms, subject to the University’s approval.

The School of Computing and Data Science (CDS) strives to advance education and research across artificial intelligence, computer science, data science, and statistics and actuarial science. 1. Tenure-track Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor

The appointment rank will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Appointees will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervise graduate students, conduct high-quality research, and participate in administrative duties at CDS.

2. Tenure-track Assistant Professor (under AI+X initiative)

We are seeking outstanding interdisciplinary scholars in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field who can develop creative and innovative research and teaching programmes that bridge artificial intelligence with other disciplines. Appointees will be hosted by CDS and will be co-hosted by another Faculty / School / Department at the University, as appropriate, depending on their expertise and research profile. The appointees are expected to contribute to research and teaching activities that strengthen sustained collaboration between CDS and the co-host unit. 

Requirements

• A Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or another relevant field;
• A solid research track record commensurate with the rank sought;
• A strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching, together with demonstrated or potential academic leadership;
• For joint appointments under AI+X, a strong cross-disciplinary research profile and a clear agenda for building research and teaching programmes that connect AI with another discipline; and
• For appointment at Professor level, outstanding and internationally recognised research achievements.

What We Offer

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave, professional leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salary tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable. A start-up package commensurate with the needs and experience of the appointee will be provided.
