UNITED NATIONS, September 29. /TASS/. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and welcomed diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict in the Middle East, according to the UN chief’s press service.

The secretary-general welcomed the diplomatic efforts undertaken during the High-level Week of the United Nations General Assembly aimed at bringing the conflict to an end, the statement said.

The UN chief also called on the parties to continue their efforts to resolve the conflict and resolve outstanding differences through negotiations.
