A self-proclaimed 'life coach' made a deranged stream of social media posts hours before he allegedly called police and confessed to stabbing his mother to death.

Alexander George Harrington, 50, was arrested last Friday outside the home he shared with his mother in a gated community of Delray Beach, Florida.

Inside, cops found the body of Susan Baratto Harrington, 77, on the living room floor, covered in blood with multiple stab wounds.

A knife with a black handle was lying nearby, which Harrington told police and paramedics he used to kill her, his charging affidavit alleged.

'I killed my mom,' he told them as he sat outside.

Just hours earlier, Harrington was rambling about love, God, and forgiveness in a stream of consciousness across his Facebook profile.

'I AM LOVE. i AM PEACE AND i AM LOVE,' he insisted in one post at 1.50pm last Thursday, followed by other posts with variations on that theme.

'I am faith truth and love... I release all illusions, I release all fears... i AM LOVE AND LIGHT. YOU ARE LOVE AND LIGHT WE ARE LOVE AND LIGHT.'

Harrington claimed he chose love, joy, and peace over war, chaos, and confusion and would 'institute divine law'.

'The Christ white light surrounds us, the violet flame of St Germaine purifys (sic) us. The love of the Christ forgive us and the God of the universe loves us,' he wrote.

'I am mirror refelction (sic) of God Christ and the holy spirit for everyone to absorb.'

But police alleged that not even 24 hours later, Harrington would instead choose violence, chaos, and confusion - against his own mother.

Harrington's hours-long rambling culminated in a six-minute live video where he told his nearly 5,000 friends that they 'have to forgive people from our past'.

'If you don't open up the door to your heart to heal, you're going to make the same mistakes over and over again,' the shirtless man said about 7pm.

'And you're not going to be a happy camper… I wrote down the name of everyone who ever hurt me and forgave them all.

'Then I went in for the kill with my fears, I wrote down all my fears - my list was so long I had 40 or 50, I could barely talk when I got sober.'

He claimed to have overcome his fear of death by 'clearing up all karmic timelines from past lives'. 

'I went into spiritual warfare and I killed all my demons in my past lives and this one. I'm kind of like a warrior nun, or you can call me Superman,' he said.

Harrington said in the video that he went through the 12-step program in Alcoholics Anonymous, 'just like the 12 Apostles, the 12 tribes of Israel'.

The affidavit explained that he told police he had been sober since 2007 and was taking medication for schizoaffective disorder with bipolar features.

Harrington's last months as a free man were filled with similarly bizarre online outbursts and rambling videos.

They included frequent repeated positive affirmations and spirituality that incorporated a mix of Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist ideology.

He claimed to be an 'intuitive healer' through rituals to 'balance and align [your] chakra' and other mystical practices.

'Today is a day where i will be utilizing the sounds of each chakra to help my friends heal them and hopefully they can walk away with broader horizons,' he wrote in August.

Another post chanted: 'I state my affirmations with joy, good smarts and pure focus. I align my attention will and intention in manifest all of my affirmations with accuracy, believe my affirmations in my heart and manifesting them in my own mind.'

Other missives repeated that he 'felt inner peace and calm' and 'love myself and others unconditionally'.

'I have a positive mental attitude. I only think positive thoughts. I only create kind and loving thought patterns,' he insisted. 

A post from April 1 again spoke of forgiveness and made a rare reference to his mother.

'My last list in AA was forgiving myself and God the Divine Creator mostly. I had some family members I need to forgive a little bit more also,' he wrote.

'When you get down to two people to forgive yourself and God you know you're in the clear. 

'I cut the umbilical cords from my mother and that was deeply needed. Now I can heal and become whole and complete.'

The posts continued frequently as far back as June last year, then jumped back to April 2023 and then November 2020.

It's not clear what the reasons for the abrupt breaks in posting were.

Harrington's sister Hillary Blue told local media that he had longstanding mental health problems and was living with Baratto after recently losing his home.

A Facebook post by Harrington in July appealed for help finding a place to live as he and his roommate had to move out by August 15.

Police alleged in the charging affidavit that Harrington called the Boca Raton Police Department non-emergency number at 2.03pm to report his mother's murder.

After about seven minutes, the call was transferred to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and he again confessed to stabbing his mother to death with a knife.

Harrington was treated for a cut on his arm, and when asked by paramedics what happened he allegedly said again that he killed his mother.

When interrogated by deputies, he at first didn't recognize his voice in the call to dispatch, but later said it was him.

He then allegedly told the deputies he killed his mother by stabbing her with a knife. 

Harrington also alternated between admitting a shirtless man in black shorts pacing on a sidewalk in a video recorded at the scene was him, and denying it was, the affidavit alleged.

Police did not list a motive for the alleged murder. 

A judge denied Harrington bail after he refused to attend his arraignment  on Monday, and he will stay behind bars until his next court appearance on October 11.
