Trees are a constant source of inspiration for design. Their shape, texture and colour bring a natural sense of movement to an interior, whether through a view from a window, a piece of furniture or a wallpaper.

Bringing the Outside In

We love interiors that connect with the world beyond their walls. A view onto greenery, a garden or a forest can influence an entire scheme, from the colour palette to the choice of fabrics and furniture.

Wallpaper is one of our favourite ways to create that connection. We often introduce trees and forests into our designs because they work particularly well across large surfaces. A woodland scene can add depth and movement to a room, while making the walls feel more expansive.

Our forests are not always intended to look realistic. We enjoy playing with colour, proportion and detail, reimagining familiar forms from nature in a more individual way. These unexpected touches keep our botanical designs feeling fresh and distinctive, rather than overly traditional.

A Forest of Colour

Nature is also a useful starting point for colour. Trees bring together a wide range of greens, browns, oranges and warmer seasonal tones, but we do not feel restricted to a natural palette. Taking inspiration from nature does not mean recreating it exactly. It can be more interesting to exaggerate or reinterpret what is already there.

The Beauty of Wood

Wood introduces another reference to trees in a quieter way. We are drawn to furniture that shows the natural character of the material, from visible grain and knots to carved details and variations in finish. Antique and vintage wooden pieces add warmth and can help ground a more colourful scheme.

Wood can also appear in the finer details of an interior. Wooden and tree bark frames bring texture and depth to furniture and decorative pieces, while mixing different types of wood and finishes adds warmth and variation. Rather than matching every finish, we like to embrace these differences, giving a room a more collected feel, as though it has evolved naturally over time.

Trees offer a broad design vocabulary. They can be bold, decorative, architectural or subtle. Whether through a forest wallpaper, a rustic piece of furniture or the natural grain of wood, trees bring scale, texture and character to a room.
