Robert Pattinson has unexpectedly put the spotlight on a little-known Spanish punk band, and nobody seems entirely sure whether he knows who they are.

Earlier this week, Pattinson appeared alongside Skyler Gisondo in a promotional video for their upcoming film Primetime, wearing a T-shirt featuring the artwork for Creo que soy de porcelana (which translate to I think I’m made of porcelain), the 2024 debut album from Madrid trio Las Petunias. There was just one problem: Las Petunias had never made the shirt.

“At first we thought it was an AI-generated video,” bassist Cecilia told Vogue España, explaining that the shirt had never existed as official merchandise.

The band, made up of Cecilia, Elsa, and Natalia, began trying to figure out how Pattinson had gotten his hands on it. Speaking to Vogue España, they floated a couple of theories: perhaps a fan in the US or Mexico had made the shirt before it eventually found its way to a secondhand store, or maybe Pattinson’s stylist, Taylor McNeill, had deliberately sought out an obscure Gen Z band for him to wear.

What is clear is that Pattinson’s fashion choice obviously got people interested in the band that formed in Madrid around 2020. After receiving a wave of requests for the mysterious shirt, Las Petunias decided to have the last laugh and make their own version official, selling it for €14.99 and donating all proceeds to Madrid’s tenants’ union, Sindicato de Inquilinas.

“I hope Robert Pattinson is proud of this,” the band wrote while announcing the sale.
