Patrick Clancy and his wife Rachel Danis spoke out following the conclusion of his ex-wife Lindsay Clancy’s triple murder trial, which ended in a mistrial. The two married after Patrick Clancy divorced Lindsay Clancy following the 2023 killings.

So who is Rachel Danis, the woman who is now Patrick Clancy’s new wife?

Danis sat down alongside Patrick Clancy for his pre-taped appearance on CBS’ “60 Minutes,” which aired Sept. 20. The interview marked his first since a judge earlier this month declared a mistrial when a jury — who had been tasked with determining whether Lindsay Clancy was criminally responsible for killing her three children — failed to reach a unanimous verdict.

In the interview, Danis shared that she met Patrick Clancy in a New York City run club in January 2024. They then grabbed coffee together.

“Pat pulls out his phone to pay and I noticed this adorable photo of children as the wallpaper,” she recalled. “And I just asked, ‘Who are those cuties?’ And Pat had said, ‘Those are my kids.’”

Danis said she inquired about where the children lived.

“And Pat said, ‘They died.’ And this is just at the cashier,” she shared.

Danis remembered having many follow-up questions but not being sure how to ask them.

The couple continued to get to know each other and tied the knot in April 2026.

Later in the sit-down, Danis spoke more about Patrick Clancy’s children. She said she tries to help him manage his grief while understanding she “can’t bring his kids back.”

“But if I can honor them and allow Pat to grieve but also just continue to honor them in the present, I guess that’s all I can do,” she continued.

The pair also confirmed that they are starting a family.

“I think every parent can agree you have different relationships with you kids, but they’re all your kids. I can’t wait to tell them about their brothers and sister,” Patrick Clancy said.

During the trial, which ended Sept. 4, the prosecution argued that Lindsay Clancy had intentionally and knowingly attacked her three children. Meanwhile, her defense did not dispute the fact that she had killed her children. But they argued that she is not criminally responsible for the murders, as she was consumed by the rare mental health condition postpartum psychosis.

Danis is a New York-based fertility doctor. According to her professional page, she’s specifically a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist at clinic RMA of New York. She’s also an assistant clinical professor at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine.

Danis specializes in endometriosis, an often painful condition in which tissue similar to what typically lines the uterus ends up on other organs. She also specializes in ovulation induction, LGBTQIA family building and fertility preservation, according to her professional biography. At one point, she was awarded a grant to conduct a clinical trial using Orlissa, a drug that aims to help patients manage moderate to severe endometriosis pain.

According to her professional bio, she’s somewhat of a fitness aficionado outside of work, and can often be found in a bootcamp class or ballet class. She also enjoys baking and strolls through Central Park, according to the website.

Danis, who married Patrick Clancy in April, shared in a newly released clip from the upcoming “60 Minutes” interview that she met Clancy in Manhattan’s Central Park.

“I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday,” Danis said. “And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”

Patrick Clancy, who divorced Lindsay Clancy following the 2023 killings, relocated to New York from the suburbs of Boston after the tragedy. By Oct. 2024, Clancy was living in what the New Yorker described in a feature as an apartment in Manhattan that resembled a “tidy bachelor pad,” which included a few keepsakes from his late children Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Clancy did not comment on his relationship status with Lindsay Clancy at the time, nor did he mention Danis.

Lindsay Clancy’s defense attorney Kevin Reddington confirmed in court that Patrick Clancy had remarried and is “trying to move on.”

While Danis did not take the stand during the nearly six-week trial over the summer, Patrick Clancy spent two days testifying on the events that led up to the killings in addition to Lindsay Clancy’s deteriorating mental health prior to the tragedy.

However, Danis became a topic of conversation when conspiracies began to arise on social media from internet users who accused Patrick Clancy of killing his children. Others online have also accused the father of framing the defendant. And in the days that followed the trial, Danis and Patrick Clancy were frequently the subject of paparazzi photos in addition to harassment.

In the interview, Danis defended their marriage.

“I don’t understand how the story has been so twisted, but I would hope people know that Pat is, as I said before, the most selfless father and supportive partner,” she said.

Patrick Clancy and others involved in the case have made multiple attempts to shut down internet conspiracies. In a Sept. 9 interview with NBC News’ Laura Jarrett, Reddington called on people to stop spreading misinformation and attacking Patrick Clancy.

“His life has been turned upside down into a nightmare that he doesn’t deserve,” Reddington said. “Period. Full stop.”

The defense attorney added that he has “said it repeatedly, unequivocally, that there is absolutely no way that this guy deserves what he has been living (through).”

The day prior, Patrick Clancy’s attorneys also attempted to shut down the noise from conspiracy theorists. One of his attorneys, Howard Cooper, mentioned in a statement that law enforcement “has been notified” about the claims and that “every appropriate measure will be pursued to hold them accountable, including legally.”

“This campaign, now fueled by insatiable media coverage, remains at a fever pitch and has resulted in real life threats to his reputation, livelihood, and life,” Cooper said in the Sept. 8 statement.
