Khloé Kardashian tells TODAY.com she is open to dating, expanding her family and shares the biggest lesson age has taught her.
For almost two decades, Khloé Kardashian has let viewers witness some of the most intimate and joyous moments of her life.
The entrepreneur and reality star was only 23 years old when the first season of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” premiered in 2007. The show ended in 2021 after 20 seasons, but she and her famous family continue to document their lives on “The Kardashians.”
Now, at the age of 42, Kardashian is looking for her “forever person,” would love to expand her family and knows that age and time gives you the best lessons in life.
Among the most important one she’s learned is being present and in the moment, “That’s probably my biggest one,” Kardashian tells TODAY.com.
Another major lesson that came with age is believing in herself and giving the same supportive energy to her needs as she gives to others.
“It’s so funny how when you’re young and everyone’s like, ‘Oh, the older you get you really just don’t care what people think.’ And I’m not saying I don’t care what anyone thinks, I do. But the pool is getting smaller of people that I care about what they think of me,” she explains.
"I just feel really free and good within myself. It's so lame, but since I've entered my 40s, I feel really powerful," she says.Nisha Johny / Disney via Getty ImagesFor example, starting her “Khloé in Wonder Land” podcast in 2025 was a major risk she took after struggling with self confidence in her mid-30s.
Kardashian says she used to feel “so confident, so secure” prior to that time in her life. “I would try any new business venture. If it failed, I was like, ‘Who cares? Everyone fails at things. Great learning lesson. Let’s move on.’”
“Then I got to a point I wouldn’t try anything because I got so in my head. Just, ‘Failure is bad, and everyone’s going to look at me a certain way.’ And I just felt so judged by so many people. I really let that get to me,” she recalls. “I would be rooting for everyone else and say such positive things to everyone. And then finally, I was like, ‘Why don’t I give myself the same energy I’m giving everybody else?’”
So what changed? Going to therapy, she says, changed her perspective.
“I’m like, ‘OK, what if it doesn’t do well? What does that mean?’ That means, ‘OK, it didn’t do well. Let’s pivot, do something else,’ and that does come with age,” she says. “That came with also working on myself. But a lot of it was like, you know what? Who cares? I’m growing up. I want to be more secure with myself. I want to show my kids that you should try new things.”
Since entering her 40s, Kardashian says she feels “really free and good within myself.”
“I feel really powerful, and I missed that because I had that for so many years and for about a decade, maybe a little less, I really lost that,” she says, “I’m proud that I was able to get it back.”
That confidence has translated to more business ventures, comfortable in her own skin and ready to put herself out in the dating world.
Season 8 of “The Kardashians” premieres Oct. 8. The trailer released mid-September teases Kardashian saying she’s single, ready to mingle and wanting more children.
“Oh my gosh, my daughter (True) asked me today about more kids, about a sister. I’m like, Oh my gosh!,” she says, adding that her children are “begging for it.”
“I’m like, I don’t know what I’m going to do. But I love kids, so I definitely need to figure out my life.”
Life is busy for Kardashian, who says she’s “definitely single” but open to meeting someone special.
“I want to put myself out there. I do want to find a forever person. I also want to just date and not have pressure on that,” she explains, adding that she just wants to have fun.
“That’s what I want first to ease myself into it. I just don’t even know how you do that in today’s day and age,” Kardashian says with a laugh. “I need help. It’s tough, right?”
Kardashian was previously married to Lamar Odom and shares daughter True, 8, and son Tatum, 4, with ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson. Over the years she’s expressed that she’s not looking to date ... until now.
“I don’t know how to help myself, so I think that’s my biggest challenge,” she says. “But anyone reading this, I’ll take tips and advice.”
