A Kenyan farmer and content creator has found himself in the international spotlight after none other than Cardi B personally reacted to his viral performance of her song “Check Please.”

Khesir Johnson, who posts on TikTok as @tallman085, has built a large following with energetic lip-sync, comedy and entertainment videos, many filmed amid the farms and banana plantations of Kenya’s Kericho region. Recent Kenyan media reports describe Johnson as a Kericho-based creator whose distinctive rural setting has become part of his online appeal. 

His latest viral moment came when he enthusiastically performed “Check Please,” a track from Cardi B’s sophomore album, AM I THE DRAMA? The album followed her 2018 debut Invasion of Privacy, and “Check Please” appears as track 17 on the project. 

Cardi B’s verified TikTok account appeared in the comment section and gave Johnson a playful two-word seal of approval:

“Period uncle”

The comment immediately became an attraction of its own, drawing massive engagement. Johnson enthusiastically replied, thanking Cardi B for recognizing him and expressing his admiration for her music and style.

Johnson’s TikTok profile has more than 860,000 followers and 17 million likes, while his videos regularly feature the rural environment where he works and creates content.
