Social cohesion strengthens security

The most recent state elections in Saxony-Anhalt, Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have underscored this once again: Social debates in Germany about the state’s future are becoming more intense. Social cohesion, however, is crucial for overcoming the major challenges of the 21st century. In its latest report section, 'Social Cohesion Strengthens Security,‘ the WBGU therefore outlines ways to counteract divisive tendencies in order to consolidate democratic societies' ability to act.
