A Disney cruise employee has been airlifted from one of the company's ships after suffering an injury.
The Royal Canadian Air Force Rescue team was called to the Disney Wonder cruise ship that was sailing approximately 113 miles off the coast of Vancouver, Canada, on September 8, CHEK News reported.
A helicopter and a fixed-wing rescue aircraft were dispatched to coordinate the rescue with the captain, according to the outlet.
A video from the rescue shows the aircraft landing on the bow of the ship as the Disney crew on board transported the victim from the ship's Medical Center to the front of the boat.
'Disney Wonder, from Rescue 915, thanks for your help, you can resume your speed,' the Air Force officer said over the intercom immediately after the rescue, 'we're gonna try to go to Comox. See you.'
Nature of Injury Remains Unknown'Thank you very much for your help, much appreciated,' Disney's captain responded.
The injured crew member was taken to Comox, a seaside town off the coast of Vancouver, where a British Columbia Emergency Services helicopter was waiting to transfer them to a hospital for treatment, CHEK News reported.
The identity of the crew member has not been released and the exact nature of their injury is unknown.
The Disney Wonder cruise ship was sailing on a seven-night itinerary through Alaska, with stops in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan, as well as a glacier viewing at the Stikine Icecap when the rescue occurred.
It embarked on its journey the day before the med-evacuation, on September 7.
