(LifeSiteNews) – Bereaved father Patrick Clancy has broken his silence.
On Sunday evening, CBS’ 60 Minutes will air Lindsay Clancy’s ex-husband Patrick’s first interview since his ex-wife’s trial for the murder of their three young children ended in a mistrial earlier this month.
CBS has said that in the prerecorded segment, conducted by Catholic commentator Ross Douthat, Clancy talks about “his grief, his memories of his children, and the baseless conspiracy theories that flooded social media since his ex-wife’s murder trial.”
Patrick’s gut-wrenching distress at discovering his children was captured on a 911 call and relayed to the jury during the trial.
“I think I did the best I could with what I had at the time, and I live with the outcome. I live with it every day, but I think I did the best I could,” Clancy told Douthat when asked if he still feels angry with himself or if he failed in some way.

The still-grieving father revealed to Douthat that he talks to his kids “all the time.”
“What do you say?” asked Douthat.
“Help me. All the time,” Clancy recounted.
“Do they help you?” Douthat asked.
“I like to believe they do. It’s a way I stay connected to them,” Clancy replied.
Clancy, who has since remarried, now lives in New York with his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis. Danis joined her husband for the Douthat interview.
“Over the past months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign,” his attorney Howard Cooper had said. The lawyer blasted “minor celebrities, so-called influencers and outright conspiracy theorists who appear intent on boosting their own social media profiles and potential profit.”
These unnamed figures’ trafficking of “conspiracy theories” has “resulted in real life threats to his reputation, livelihood, and life,” Cooper said.

Patrick Clancy’s interview will air on 60 Minutes on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+.
