The kids in the preschool class all loved Adele’s son Angelo, and every parent wanted to set up a play date. Nobody was brave enough to make the call.

Gellar‘s son was in the class, and she says the parents froze on the same question: who’s going to ask Adele? “Not it, not it, not it,” she said, hand up.

Reese Witherspoon’s son was in the class too, so Gellar tried to pass the job up the chain. “Reese, you’re the most famous, you have to ask Adele,” she said. Witherspoon’s answer: “I don’t wanna ask Adele.”

So no one ever did. “We were all just like so nervous,” Gellar said.

It resolved itself anyway. When Adele’s family moved back to London, she came into the classroom herself with double-decker buses and a book about where Angelo was moving. Gellar’s son mentioned it in passing when he got home: yeah, his mom came to school. The parents were the ones stunned: what, why weren’t we at school?
