”Already, but Not Yet” • 1st Peter 1:6-9 - Elder Bryce Lowrance

The purpose of Peter’s letter is to encourage children of God to continue to walk by faith even though they live in a world that is constantly against them. The key to that stedfast walk is a proper perspective on suffering and trial. Rather than thinking that God has abandoned us, we need to realize that our Good Father is showing us there is more ”self” that needs to be removed from our lives so that we are more like His Son, Jesus. If we are truly looking forward to the return of Jesus and our resurrection, then we can understand that the Father, through various trials, is preparing us to more perfectly praise the Son on His return.
