Following some past leaks, another new report reveals basically everything about the upcoming “Lenovo Googlebook 15” including its full specs, but without a price tag.

Google said that the first wave of Googlebook laptops would have a premium focus, and the company wasn’t kidding based on this latest leak. MacObserver has a full spec sheet for the “Lenovo Googlebook 15” and, between the OLED display an up to 32GB of RAM, this thing is not going to be cheap by any means.

Here are the highlights:

• Intel Core Ultra 5 325
• 16GB / 32GB LPDDR5x RAM
• 256GB / 512GB storage
• 15.3-inch, 2880 x 1800 OLED, 120hz, 16:10, touchscreen
• 70Wh battery, up to 11 hours
• Haptic trackpad (150x95mm)
• 2x USB-C/Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, HDMI 2.0, audio jack
• Fingerprint sensor & “Google facial authentication”

A few things worth noting here.

To reiterate, this laptop will not be cheap. The closest comparison I could find was the ThinkPad X9 15 Aura Edition which Lenovo sells for just over $1,500 at the moment. It’s not like it doesn’t have the specs or features to back up that price – haptic trackpad and a fingerprint sensor are both great add-ons here – but will Googlebook’s software be able to make that worthwhile?

The most interesting tidbit here is mention of “Google facial authentication.”

There’s no added explanation in the report, but this is presumably referring to camera-based face unlock that was rumored to show up on Chromebooks and Pixel phones. “Project Toscana” is supposedly in the same ballpark as Apple’s Face ID in terms of speed, but details are still fuzzy on what this might end up being, and it’s unclear if these alleged hardware-based enhancements are actually in place on this laptop – it could be a simple software implementation, similar to Pixel phones.

We’ll likely be hearing more about Lenovo’s Googlebook and models from several other brands in the near future.
