MOSCOW, September 18. /TASS/. Europeans are making it clear in their countries’ elections that they do not want any war with Russia, but instead of listening to their citizens, politicians are trying to save their ratings, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Military·Industrial Commission.

The head of state said that some European leaders are openly stating that they are preparing for war with Russia.

"In my view, they are simply trying to save their declining ratings by covering up mistakes in economic and social policy. But it’s not working very well, it doesn’t help. But instead of stopping to listen to their citizens, who made it clear in the elections that they do not want any war with Russia, these leaders nevertheless continue to escalate the situation," he said.
