The country is commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, and the stories and legacy of our family contributions and sacrifices must be honored now, and in the future. Places and spaces like the August Wilson African American Cultural Center are alive with art, history, and culture, and vital to keeping our collective memories truthful and our historical legacies safe from erasure. The August Wilson African American Cultural Center preserves and uplifts these stories, honoring the vibrancy and resilience of the African diaspora. We gather at the Center to celebrate and create art, literature, music, dance, poetry, and education.

Get involved! Here are ways to support

Dedicate a Theater Seat: Name a seat in honor of a family member, a mentor, or someone who has inspired your story. Orchestra Seats are $7,500 and Balcony Seats are $3,750. Payment plans are available

Become a member with a one-time gift or become a sustaining monthly member.

Volunteer as an usher or a gallery docent. Time is valuable, spend your time at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center.
