ReactOS 0.4.16 released today as the newest major update to this "open-source Windows" project providing an open-source OS with Windows driver and application compatibility.

Most noticeable to end users is ReactOS 0.4.16 introducing a new graphical installer that is also now present on the combined boot CD and live CD environment. Thus from the same image you can finally test and install ReactOS, similar to the Linux live experience going back many years.

ReactOS 0.4.16 also introduces a new ReactOS Server Core installation type that is similar to Windows Server Core since Windows Server 2008. With the ReactOS Server Core, the graphical explorer shell is disabled.

ReactOS 0.4.16 also features infrastructure work around multi-monitor support, various graphics driver improvements, better audio driver support, numerous storage enhancements, better networking, updated third-party code, and a variety of other improvements.
