The 2026 FIFA World Cup begins in one month

Дата публикации: 11-05-2026 11:20:37

The 2026 FIFA World Cup begins June 11. Dallas Stadium will host 9 matches, the most of any single venue this year, including 5 group stage games and a semifinal.
The tournament is being held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The final is July 19 at New York/New Jersey Stadium.
Federal officials have warned of heightened security risks across the country related to the games, including here in North Texas.
Delays in federal funding have shortened the amount of time local law enforcement agencies have to prepare for the tournament.
In DFW, planned events connected to the World Cup extend far beyond AT&T Stadium in Arlington, increasing the number of locations that law enforcement will work to secure.
Dallas will host a FIFA fan festival at Fair Park, and the tournament’s international media center is located at the city’s convention center downtown.
Media outlets are expected to start moving into the facility shortly.
Frisco and Mansfield will also play host to team training sites, and fans from around the world are expected to gather in entertainment districts across the metroplex. The host committee’s plans also call for the use of special transit hubs to move many fans to and from the stadium by bus and train.
Local officials are also coordinating logistics for people to use public transit to World Cup games and events.
New Jersey officials lowered the price of train tickets to games after considerable backlash to the originally announced price of $105. Those tickets go on sale Wednesday, May 13.
North Texas’ transit plan includes a mix of DART buses, TRE trains, and a private shuttle to help fans travel to and from the games.
Fans who choose to drive to games could pay several hundred dollars to park; the cost could be similar for the FIFA Fan Fest.
On FIFA’s official parking platform, JustPark, reserved parking for the first match — Netherlands vs. Japan — ranges from $125 to $200. The price for the semifinal on July 14 ranges from $200 to $274.99.
FIFA says those fluctuating prices are based on market conditions.
Tickets for the actual games remain on sale; some for tens of thousands of dollars.
There is some skepticism about the number of international visitors expected for the tournament, which is typically a huge tourism draw and global spotlight. Hotel bookings are reportedly far below expectations.
The USMNT is expected to announce its roster for the tournament on May 26.
