Will Kirk has announced he is going to be a dad for the first time. 

Taking to Instagram, The Repair Shop star, 36, revealed the happy news that he and wife Polly are expecting a baby this summer as he held a mug baring the word 'Papa.' 

Grinning from ear-to-ear, the antique furniture restorer, dressed in a cream knit jumper, penned to his thrilled followers: 'A new mug to add to my collection this summer.

'We are so excited for our new little arrival and to extend our family ♥️'. 

The sweet post was immediately awash with messages of congratulations as fans revelled in his joy. 

'Congratulations all 3 of you,' one comment read, while another gushed over the 'wonderful news.' 

Will and Polly tied the knot last August, a year later than intended owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The father-to-be described the nuptials as 'the best day of his life' in a gorgeous Instagram album shared at the time. 

Polly, an educational psychologist, looked the picture of elegance on the big day in a flowing gown with lace sleeves.  

As well as BBC2's The Repair Shop, Will has also appeared on The French Collection and What To Buy and Why.   

The TV star first developed an interest in antique furniture and restoration as a child, having watched his grandfather restore pieces of furniture in his workshop. 

Will studied Graphic Design at the University of the Arts, going on to graduate with a BA in Antique Furniture Restoration and Conservation from London Metropolitan University.
