Sarah Pidgeon learned a lot in playing Carolyn Bessette in Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, the FX limited series that took the world by storm and landed seven Emmy nominations including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology or Television Movie. Although she has been an actress for many years, and received a Tony nomination for her Broadway debut as Diana in Stereophonic, playing the iconic wife of JFK Jr. was a entirely new experience and a lesson in the pitfalls of social media and fame, as well as a remarkable experience that has brought Pidgeon another level of stardom.

She joins me this week for this episode of my Deadline video series The Actor’s Side, where we discuss the challenges and joys of doing such a high-profile role in such a high-profile project.

We also talk about her past work including Stereophonic, a key role in horror movie I Know What You Did Last Summer, breakout parts in The Wilds and Tiny Beautiful Things, working opposite a Great Dane and Bill Murray in The Friend, and much more.

Pidgeon also tells all about her upcoming big movie Honeymoon With Harry, in which she stars opposite Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal in a movie that has taken years to get made and finally did with a stellar cast and key role for Pidgeon.

We also talk about playing a fashion icon and what that Emmy nomination means, including getting to meet one of her competitors in the category, the legendary Sally Field.
