A Tennessee worker is seeking millions in damages after a lawsuit alleges her hand became trapped in an unguarded machine at Hankook Tire's Clarksville plant.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Tennessee worker is suing Hankook Tire and several other companies after losing an arm following a machinery incident at the company's Clarksville manufacturing plant.
The lawsuit was filed Friday in Montgomery County Circuit Court. The worker was employed by contractor I-Master Corp. and had been working at the plant for about five months when she was assigned to clean equipment on Dec. 13, 2025.
According to the complaint, she had finished cleaning a machine used in truck and bus tire production when employees or agents of Hankook Tire and/or MESNAC turned it on while she was still nearby.
The lawsuit says the worker did not know the machine had been turned on before her right hand was pulled into a belt and became trapped. It alleges there was a delay in shutting off the equipment.
The complaint alleges the machine was unguarded, unlocked and not tagged out and accuses the defendants of failing to follow safety procedures intended to prevent the equipment from unexpectedly starting.
The worker suffered catastrophic injuries that resulted in amputations and permanent disabilities, according to the lawsuit.
The lawsuit names Hankook Tire Manufacturing Tennessee, several MESNAC companies and Davian Enterprises, formerly known as WYKO Tire Technologies. It seeks $10 million in compensatory damages and up to $20 million in punitive damages.
The allegations have not been proven in court.
