The meme commonly uses the term alongside an image and a character depicting a gold, caricature-like man with exaggerated facial proportions, similar to Manny Heffley from Diary of a Wimpy Kid, often circled in red while the audio of the kid yelling plays.
The meme appeared in mid-July 2026 and primarily spread on TikTok as the original sound from the Fortnite voice chat was edited and added to other clips or remixed into songs. The term is purportedly used as an alternative for the N-word, with many attributing it to young Mexican or Latino boys, especially those associated with the Edgar stereotype, which is commonly depicted in Neegy memes.
