William "Bill" Joseph Shadwick, April 20, 1956 – June 13, 2026

Words cannot express the loss and sadness at the passing of Bill Shadwick. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and educator. He was a Christian man; faithful to his church. But he was also a dedicated member of the board of directors at the Soddy, Daisy & Montlake Historical Association.

From the beginning of the SDMHA journey when we formed over 10 years ago, Bill was dedicated to preserving our local history, educating others about our local history and occasionally securing artifacts to donate to the museum. More times than not, Bill could be found at The Good Old Days Museum volunteering his time on Fridays or Saturdays. He was always present at every event since 2015.

When Bill got sick, it did not slow him down. He and Ruth Ann continued to travel. He was present at board meetings and weighing in on board emails. In March at the Annual History Fair, Bill manned the auction table and said he felt great to be there. Never one time did Bill ever complain, even when he had every right to. Bill was positive, believing that he would be fine and making sure everyone around him was good. That was Bill. He will be deeply missed.

At this time, we ask that you keep Ruth Ann, their girls, grandchildren and his extended family in your thoughts and prayers. Lift them up and ask God to wrap his healing hands around them during this difficult time.
