Presented by the First Horizon Foundation, the 18th annual National Treasures: Party at Point Park is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 3, from 5:30-8:30 pm.

Benefitting National Park Partners of Chickamauga, Chattanooga, and Moccasin Bend, event tickets are on sale now at PartyatPointPark.com.

The community is invited to celebrate “40 Years of Friends” as the original Friends of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park began 40 years ago in 1986, followed by the founding of the Friends of Moccasin Bend in 1995. With the two groups now consolidated into National Park Partners, the event will highlight four decades of preserving, promoting, and enhancing the resources of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, including Moccasin Bend National Archeological District. 

A hallmark of the Party at Point Park is the once-a-year opportunity for guests to capture a keepsake photo at Lookout Mountain’s first tourist attraction, the iconic Umbrella Rock. The New Dismembered Tennesseans will once again provide the perfect musical accompaniment to the evening, with two sets of live bluegrass performed with stunning views of the Tennessee River valley as the backdrop. Guests will enjoy a ‘southern comfort food’ buffet from BBQ Rowe, serving up delicious BBQ and all the fixins, including plant-based options. Complimentary beverages, including beer and wine, are provided. Guests are automatically entered to win one of a dozen “gate” prizes, including wine, mystery prizes, local business gift cards, and beautiful artwork featuring the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. Activities for all ages make the Party at Point Park a family-friendly event.

The 2026 National Treasures: Party at Point Park is dedicated to the memories of Jack Deaton and Troy Wayne Poteete, longtime board members whose lives exemplified character and service to community and country. A Vietnam veteran, businessman, and civic leader, Jack Deaton and his wife, Shelley, devoted decades of volunteer leadership and service to growing the legacy of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. Jack was an irreplaceable member of the National Treasures event committee, contributing to months of planning each year and welcoming guests as they arrived at Point Park with genuine hospitality. As Executive Director of the National Trail of Tears Association, Troy Wayne Poteete was instrumental in establishing the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail sites, both locally and across the network of states. His ability to tell the heartbreaking story of the American Indian Removal while emphasizing the resiliency of the Cherokee Nation will never be forgotten. Their decades of service epitomize what it means to give All for YOUR Park (this year’s event theme).
