The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has selected Geotab as its fleet data and telematics provider following a pilot evaluation process. The deployment will include telematics technology and forward-facing camera systems across the agency's fleet.

According to Geotab, the technology is intended to provide TDOT with greater visibility into vehicle operations, equipment utilization, and maintenance needs. The system will support a range of fleet assets, including specialized highway and maintenance equipment used throughout the state.

The deployment will consolidate vehicle data into a single platform, allowing fleet personnel to monitor vehicle activity, review engine diagnostics, and track equipment performance. Forward-facing cameras will provide additional context for vehicle operations and roadway conditions.

Geotab said the system will also support maintenance planning using vehicle and engine data and provide information to evaluate asset utilization and fleet performance. The platform is designed to accommodate future integrations and additional technologies as agency requirements evolve.

The agreement expands TDOT's use of telematics and fleet data tools to support management of its statewide fleet operations.
