Know a government fleet, safety, or risk manager who deserves recognition for making fleet operations safer? Nominations are open through Aug. 15.
There are only 5 days left to nominate an outstanding fleet professional for the 2026 Fleet Safety Award.
Presented by the American Automotive Leasing Association (AALA) and Automotive Fleet, the annual award recognizes fleet, safety, and risk managers whose leadership and innovation have improved driver safety, strengthened their organizations’ safety cultures, and protected the communities they serve.
Public-sector fleet professionals working with light- and medium-duty vehicles are eligible for consideration.
Recognizing Leadership in Fleet SafetyThe Fleet Safety Award honors fleet organizations and professionals that demonstrate exceptional leadership in developing and sustaining a culture of safety.
Nominees may distinguish themselves through innovative safety programs, effective use of technology, measurable improvements in safety performance, and initiatives designed to protect employees and the public.
For government fleet operations, those efforts can include strategies to reduce preventable crashes, improve driver behavior, strengthen safety policies, use fleet and telematics data more effectively, and create greater accountability across departments.
A panel of fleet industry leaders will evaluate the nominations and select the winner.
Nominations close Aug. 15, 2026.
The winner and two runners-up will be announced during the 2026 Fleet Forward Conference, scheduled for Oct. 20-22 at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, Maryland.
