Total War: Warhammer is a game developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA on Steam on May 24, 2016. Taking place in the Warhammer universe, this game allows you to conquer the Old World while managing your cities and resources.

But, to do this, five different races are available, including the Empire, the Dwarfs, and the Greenskins. Each race has its own characters, units, and a specific playstyle that you'll need to master. As in other Total War games, you’ll need to recruit different units, use diplomacy, establish trade relations, and acquire various resources. However, that’s not all, as you’ll also need to lay siege to and conquer other provinces to expand your power.

While the gameplay on the world map is turn-based, battles take place in real time. Thus, to defeat your opponents, you’ll need to use the right strategy and employ various abilities, such as magic. Finally, you can also participate in online battles or play with a friend in the co-op campaign.

Since its release, Total War: Warhammer has 78% positive reviews based on more than 53,000 reviews. On Metacritic, it has a Metascore of 86 and a user score of 7.5. Many players enjoy the different gameplay styles for each faction and the game’s fantasy universe. However, several players have reported bugs that haven’t been fixed. In addition, while there are numerous DLCs, they’ve also been criticized for their prices.

Nevertheless, Total War: Warhammer is currently 75% off on Steam. According to SteamDB, it is available for $14.99 instead of $59.99 until August 27, 2026.
