In China, the entry-level Robot Phone model costs 33 percent more than the Vivo X300 Ultra and 25 percent more than the Oppo Find X9 Ultra with the same storage capacity. The first retailers are now offering to import it for you but apart from even higher prices in Europe and other international markets, you have to be aware of some restrictions with the Chinese model.

If you really want to, you can now import it from at least three retailers. We’re talking about what is likely the most unusual flagship camera phone of the year: the Robot Phone from Honor. With its built-in 3-axis gimbal, this smartphone offers a whole new take on the classic flagship camera phone formula, though its price also puts it in a class of its own.

In China, the launch set a new price benchmark for local camera flagships. 10,000 yuan (1,285 euros, US$1,480) for the 12/512 GB version and 13,000 yuan (1,670 euros, US$ 1,930) for the 1 TB version are on par with foldable phones or the iPhone 17 Pro Max in China, and this is also reflected in the prices you have to pay for an import. You can already get the Robot Phone to Europe and other markets from AverageDad, Trinity Electronics, and Giztop; however, we haven’t found the new Honor flagship on Tradingshenzhen yet. Since a global Robot Phone product page already exists, we expect a global launch as well—though likely at even higher prices than the imported China models.

The entry-level model costs the equivalent of 1,740 euros or US$ 2,014 at Trinity Electronics, 1,740 euros or US$ 1,999 at Giztop, and 1,790 euros or US$ 2,072 at AverageDad. The 16GB/1TB model costs 2,203 euros (US$ 2,549), 2,275 euros (US$ 2,599), and 2,385 euros (US$ 2,763). That’s an average of about 30–36 percent more than in China, although at least at the AverageDad shop, taxes are already included. According to this declaration, this should also be the case for Giztop if you are in the EU but not for the USA or UK. Trinity Electronics provides no information on this matter. All retailers carry both color options, with shipping set to begin on August 19 and 20, respectively.

Potential restrictions on imported devices

As with all Chinese smartphone models, restrictions for use in areas outside China are to be expected. Unfortunately, Honor China does not specify the supported network bands in their Chinese spec sheet; however, according to Giztop, LTE Band 20 and the most important 4G and 5G bands are supported. We do not know how accurate this information is though. According to a Google search, MagicOS offers English and some other language options in the Chinese version, however, we cannot guarantee this for the Robot Phone specifically. Neither eSIM nor Android Auto is likely to be available and WearOS smartwatches will not work with devices running a China ROM. In addition, you should expect significantly reduced warranty rights as well as exchange/return policies compared to purchasing directly from EU retailers. Interested buyers should check with their respective retailer for details.
