Given just how expensive personal computing devices have gotten in recent quarters, products aimed at affordability are definitely a breath of fresh air.
The well-known Chinese consumer electronics brand Teclast announced the T70 Pro tablet a month ago. The company announced several of its crucial features but kept its pricing under wraps until now.
Spotted by ITHome, the T70 Pro tablet has now gone on sale in China, priced at around 1,299 yuan or roughly $200. The affordable tablet is powered by a MediaTek Helio G100 SoC, which is found in several lower-end budget-oriented products.
The entry-level Helio G100 octa-core SoC features two ARM Cortex-A76 cores and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores. In synthetic benchmarks, the Helio G100 scores around 1,800 points in Geekbench 6 multicore, indicating usable performance for day-to-day lightweight tasks.
Packing a 14-inch display, the affordable tablet can also function as a laptop-replacement for folks with basic workloads. The panel sports a resolution of 2240 x 1400, which allows for a pixel density of around 188.
The T70 Pro tablet also comes equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Folks who prefer additional storage can make use of the tablet's microSD card slot for expansion.
Other key hardware details include a 13 MP rear shooter, an 8 MP front camera, 10,000-mAh battery, 18-watt fast charging, dual SIM support, LTE connectivity, and a quad speaker setup.
A single Type-C port is present, housed in a relatively thin chassis. Docking pins are present on the rear of the device, allowing support for magnetic keyboard folio cases and other accessories.
Global availability details have not been shared as of this writing. Teclast does like to bring its products to the overseas market, and the same is likely for the new T70 Pro as well. Until then, budget-conscious tablet buyers can check out the Lenovo Idea Tab, currently available for $200 on Amazon.
