Thermal Grizzly has been selling de-lidded and re-pasted AMD and Intel CPUs since 2025, with the brand previously announcing the Ryzen 7 9850X3D and Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus, both with liquid metal TIM for maximum thermal conductivity with the IHS and whatever cooling solution is on the other side of the IHS, as a result.

The latest CPU to get the de-lid treatment at Thermal Grizzly is the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, AMD's most recent 16-core, 32-thread Zen 5 gaming CPU. As is the case with the other Thermal Grizzly de-lidded CPUs, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 comes with a custom Thermal Grizzly warranty of up to 24 months. In the case of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2, the CPU ships with the original IHS in the package, but not with the IHS installed. Instead, Thermal Grizzly recommends using its own Mycro Direct-Die, Mycro Direct-Die Pro, or High Performance Heatspreaders for cooling.

In addition to the specialized direct-die cooling frames, it is recommended that users seal the SMDs on the CPU's PCB with something like TG Kapton Insulation Sheet or TG Shield when using liquid metal thermal interface, in order to prevent damaging the surface-mount components with the liquid metal. The AMD TG Delidded AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 has an MSRP of $1,402.83, but it is sold out at the time of writing.
